Kalutara Bodhiya is one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in Sri Lanka, located in Kalutara, about 40 km south of Colombo. The temple is famous for its large white stupa (dagoba) and its historic Bo tree, which is believed to be a sapling from the sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura. It is an important pilgrimage site and a symbol of Buddhism in Sri Lanka.
